How do I process a scope change request?
- Log the request: Use the mandatory Documented Change Request template — requester, business reason, affected deliverables and acceptance criteria. QMS-DCR-0001
- Assess impacts before changing baselines: Evaluate scope, schedule, cost, quality and risk, and whether the change still supports project value. PMI8-GOV
- Route for a decision: Submit to the designated change authority; record approval, rejection or deferral with the rationale. PMI8-GOV
- Update approved plans: Revise WBS, schedule and cost baselines through change control — never rebaseline to hide variance. PMI8-SCOPE
- Implement and verify: Inspect, test and obtain formal acceptance of the changed deliverables. PMI8-QUAL
